I was talking to one of my patients yesterday about his health. This young man said this, “I remember back when I came to you for health advice amd while I listened to you, I was very ignorant in my approach to health. Here I am 3 years later and I’m a bit more muscular and leaner in some rights but probably less healthier than I was before. I thought it would be fine continuing the same habits as long as I made “tweaks” here and there. If we could just listen the first time it would make life a lot easier but I guess everyone has lessons to learn in this life.”

Yes, we all do! However, it is very important for us to be aware of what the mind and the body need to function optimally and then to do whatever we can to align ourselves with these requirements. Is it sometimes hard and inconvenient? You bet it is. But when we go against these laws, we get to deal with the consequences of our choices. And frequently those consequences are a lot harder to live with in reality than they were when we simply ‘imagined what it would be like.’ Unfortunately, everyone else in our sphere of influence also gets to deal with the actual facts of our poor choices.

We don’t have to go crazy making major changes; we simply have to decide to consistently move in the direction we want to end up—taking one step at a time. We cannot stay in the same place if we put one foot in front of the other.

Today, decide to love and honor your mind and body and give them what they need to function exceptionally.
